The location is excellent - a comercial area, very dynamic, with a lot of transport connexions. It's only five blocks awawy from the Medicine Faculty, as well as from the famous Teatro Colón. It's 10 minutes walking distance from the Obelisco. There is a hudge variety of cultural and entertainment activities very close, and a lot of restaurant choices. In front of the building there is a bike path and different public bike stations in the area. It's a very safe area, during the day and also by night.
Its main Avenues Corrientes and Rivadavia, are filled with shops of al kinds. It stands out the monumental Mercado del Abasto- the first reinforced concrete building in the country- today turned into a Spectacular shopping center.
The neighborhood is very active, has a lot of inhabitants and a lot of auto traffic. There are plenty of antique and historical buildings.
Around Balvanera there is a growing supply of quality tango show restaurants.
This neighborhood has its own personality, it's full of students and it's a mix of cultures: Jewish's, Koreans, Chinese and Peruvian live here.
