Historic buildings, in the heart of the political center of Argentina
As far as law is concerned, Congreso is not technically a neighborhood: it’s an area formed by San Nicolas and Balvanera neighborhoods. Needless to say how beautiful Congreso is: it gathers some of the most famous monuments and buildings of the country. The most important construction is the National Congress and the park in front of it, Plaza de los Dos Congresos, which is the heart of Argentina’s political life. De Mayo Avenue recalls to the Gran via in Madrid. Over De Mayo Avenue, you will find Barolo Palace, a gothic building from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the city if you climb to the top of it. You will also find Avenida Theatre. In the corner formed by Rivadavia and Callao Avenues, you can watch the antique front of El Molino restaurant. Over Callao Avenue, instead, the arquitecture has French reminiscences.
